Then this happened and gave her her shiny new power. Though I don't think she's fully discovered this one yet, since this last scene is from the new season, after I diverted her to Canada. ^_~

Physical Appearance: Average height, with straight blond hair and grey eyes. Chloe has an eclectic sense of fashion and enjoys changing her hairstyle, though it’s always around chin-length. She smiles often and fully, though her face seems to have an almost permanent wry look about it.
Education: Student at Metropolis University, majoring in journalism
Occupation: Until recently a junior reporter at the Daily Planet; fired from that position by Lex Luthor. She has taken over running Lana Lang’s Isis Foundation: on the surface an organization dedicated to helping those affected by the meteor rocks, but truly established to monitor Lex Luthor and his activities.
Significant Other: Jimmy Olsen, her on-and-off boyfriend. He actually proposed to her, but she didn’t have a chance to answer before she was arrested by DDS agents. (Though she’s always been in love with Clark, he’s never returned those feelings, and she’s long since decided not to let that get in the way of her being his friend nor finding someone else to love.)

Character Biography:

History: Chloe was born in 1986 in Metropolis, Kansas, moving to Smallville with her father when she was in eighth grade. Her mother was institutionalized for mental illness and spent most of Chloe’s life in a catatonic state; Chloe only recently discovered that this was because of meteor abilities. She became friends with classmate Clark Kent and has remained his closest friend and confidante. Once she learned about his powers and his origin, her abilities with research and computers proved almost as invaluable to him as her support. All her life, she’s wanted to be a journalist, and snooping is second nature to her; long before learning Clark’s secret, she was essentially the only one in Smallville who noticed and actively chased down the connection between the 1989 meteor shower and unexplained phenomena or people with impossible abilities, documenting it all on her “Wall of Weird.” Though she once considered all ‘meteor freaks’ dangerous, she recently discovered that she herself is one, which has left her frightened that one day the taint will drive her sociopathic as it seems to do to most of the others. Until then, though, she is determined to keep doing her best for Clark, and going to any lengths to uncover the Truth.

After graduating Smallville High, she moved back to Metropolis to attend the university with Lana, taking (obviously) journalism as her major and starting an internship at the Daily Planet. She briefly had her own column, but her career ups and downs were far more dependent on the whims of Lex and Lionel Luthor than her own abilities. She also took on many ‘side jobs’ for the sake of Clark, her cousin Lois, Oliver Queen, and others, and even worked with Lionel Luthor once he seemingly reformed. Eventually her hacking of high-security satellite grids and other questionable activities brought her to the notice of the DDS as a suspected terrorist agent. Her boyfriend Jimmy made a deal with Lex to protect her, but once Jimmy found himself morally unable to keep up his end of the bargain, Lex turned the tables and government agents descended to arrest Chloe.

Personality in Seven Words or Less: Open-minded, intelligent, curious, determined, stubborn, blunt, loyal.

How Others Perceive Your Character: A good friend, a rock, relentless in pursuit of answers, a bit mule-headed.

Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: The Public Has a Right to Know. Though in keeping Clark’s secret, Chloe’s utter devotion to this idea has slipped a bit, she will never be a person capable of letting sleeping dogs lie. In pursuit of The Truth, she can and will do (and has done) all sorts of unethical, dangerous, and even illegal things. However, she has learned (the hard way) how to (reluctantly) back off when her avid curiosity puts her in danger of hurting someone she cares about. She will never abandon a friend.

Reason(s) for Escaping to Canada: It wasn’t precisely an escape. After her arrest in the Talon, on Lex Luthor’s instructions, agents from the Department of Domestic Security drugged her, transported her up to the Aternaville border and left her there with nothing but the clothes on her back and the contents of her purse. Having come across reference to Aternaville before in her investigations of the weird and uncanny, and not taking long to notice the abnormalities surrounding the place now, she lets her reporter’s instinct persuade her to stick around instead of fighting to find a way home right away.

Their Dreams, Hopes, and Aspirations for Canada: Aternaville is one big mystery, and there’s nothing Chloe likes more than a good mystery. She’s determined to get to the bottom of this place if it kills her.

1. What turns them on: Mysteries, maybe a little danger in a good cause. Elevators.
2. What turns them off: Being stonewalled or dismissed really pisses me off. Not to mention when people snoop into my private business. Oops, that makes me a li’l bit of a hypocrite, doesn’t it?
3. Would they see a shrink: No. Make that a double no with a cherry on top. I’m not crazy.
4. Worst Childhood Experience: Living in Smallville? Where do I start? No, seriously – I’ve been through a lot you wouldn’t believe, but the worst was probably in high school when Clark found out I’d kept looking into his past after he made me promise to stop. He was really pissed, I felt awful. For a long time I thought our friendship was ruined. Thank god, he forgave me eventually. …Then there was being buried alive and repeatedly drugged and almost driven off a cliff and thrown out a window and frozen to death a couple of times and blown up and having my friends try to kill me… but hey, all in the line of duty, right?

8. Least Favorite Word: Nothing. Nothing is ever nothing, that’s my personal and contradictory truth.

10. Best gift ever received: Can I say the cheap plastic ring Jimmy got me, even if I never actually got to put it on? Seriously, sweetest thing ever. I still can’t believe he suddenly decided to pop out a proposal like that!
11. Sound or Noise they hate: Silence, actually. Not huge on silence.
12. Sound or Noise they love: Conspiratorial whispers always get my ears perking up.
13. Do they know the answer to 64 million dollar question: Are you kidding? Answers are what I do.

I’d hardly expect God to greet me personally, I just hope they’ve got a library up there. All the answers to everything I’ve ever wondered about. Because if I don’t get to satisfy my curiosity when I’m dead, then we’ve got a problem.
